Dark Souls: Design Works is an art book that collects most of that beautiful madness in one place, and although it's lacking in many areas, it is. Out in October, and published by the fanservice kings at Udon, Dark Souls: Design Works is a nice big hardcover book that collects a lot of. A must have for a Dark Souls fanatic, like myself, but be wary of the cost to content ratio. I have bought UDON books before and this cover art is probably up.

Not to mention, it was somewhat disappointing to note you can find far more comprehensive concept images of characters like Knight Artorias online than you may find inside this book, images that showcase the different parts of dark souls art book outfit in their entirety rather than only the final, full look.
Perhaps they figured it'd give the book a much cleaner look. Which I wasn't expecting, purchasing a book titled "Design Works".
I expected concept dark souls art book in its entire, sketchy, doodle-ish gorgeousness. In fact, the organization of content is a bit chaotic. Take the weapons section for example. They are not strictly grouped by type. There are axes together with broad swords, spears with shields, etc.
Same thing with the characters and enemies. The concept art featured are nice but with a slightly rough art style.
